WATCH: WWE superstar Seth Rollins' shocked reaction to Jayden Daniels' 52-yard Hail Mary goes viral
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was spotted at the Chicago Bears game against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium on Sunday. The Visionary was visibly shocked by Jayden Daniels’ 52-yard Hail Mary during the game’s final moments. As expected, the Bears lost again, but this time, they came very close.
Rollins continued his love/hate affair with the game even after the last touchdown. One moment, he was celebrating before the final play was complete; the next, he was disappointed with the outcome. A fan recorded the contrast in his reactions, which quickly went viral on TikTok.
This game was a back-and-forth event as the Commanders led for the majority of the time. At one point, during the third quarter, the Commanders were leading 12-0, but as the last play approached, they were trailing 12-15. A slight lapse in focus from defender Tyrique Stevenson ultimately changed everything.
With only two seconds remaining, Daniels took his time, considering his options and holding the ball for over 12 seconds to set up the play. Only a Hail Mary moment could save the Commanders, who had nearly lost the game’s momentum.
Daniels threw a 52-yard pass into a dense crowd of Bears and Commanders players, but a slight deflection by Stevenson directed the ball toward the only exception — Noah Brown. Since Brown caught the ball in the end zone, Stevenson was left apologizing for his crucial mistake.
Even Pat McAfee pointed out on his show how Stevenson was seen celebrating prematurely. Fans then couldn’t resist trolling the WWE champion, thanking him for his own early celebration.
Jayden Daniels' Hail Mary among the greatest moments ever
The NFL posted a special video of the game’s closing moments, asking fans if this was the greatest Hail Mary moment. There have been very few such moments since the play’s inception in 1975 when Roger Staubach threw to Pearson in a game between the Cowboys and the Vikings.
In 1984, Doug Flutie's miracle helped Boston College to win a thriller against Miami. Some even prefer Stewart to Westbrook for Colorado vs. Michigan as the greatest. Among the modern greats, Aaron Rodgers is considered the master of Hail Mary with multiple such instances. One such instance happened earlier this year the Bills, his first since 2017. Regardless, the one by Daniels will undoubtedly be remembered for a long time.
