“We’re gonna capture the whole NFC” – Michael Irvin shuts down Stephen A Smith in impassioned rant in support of Cowboys despite loss to Eagles
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin is a passionate supporter of his former team. Now an analyst on NFL Network as well as ESPN, Irvin will regularly support the Cowboys and devout his confidence to the team.
Even after the team's 26-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, Irvin made his prediction for Dallas while on ESPN's "Get Up" Monday morning. After Stephen A. Smith declared that Dallas was not as good as some may have thought, Irvin spoke his mind.

He said that he isn't worried about the NFC East for the Cowboys because he believes that his team is better than most of the entire NFC. He said that after the loss by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the struggles of the Green Bay Packers, both now sit at 3-3. He said that the main competition that they have is the Philadelphia Eagles. And, on Sunday, Dallas was not at 100% especially without starting quarterback Dak Prescott.
"You saw what Tampa did, you saw what Green Bay looks like. So, so you are talking small ball. You're talking about the NFC East, what I saw was big ball. The whole NFC opens up to the Dallas Cowboys the only battle they have is the Philadelphia Eagles. And, the Philadelphia Eagles just beat them at 80% so do you see what I'm saying. When we're 100% we ain't talking about winning no eastwe're gonna' capture the whole NFC."
The NFC East is shaping up to be one of the best in the National Football League. The Eagles sit at the top with a 6-0 record, followed by the New York Giants at 5-1, the Dallas Cowboys at 4-1 and then the Washington Commanders at the bottom with just a 2-4 record.
When will QB Dak Prescott return to the Dallas Cowboys?
Backup quarterback Cooper Rush led the Dallas Cowboys to four straight wins after Dak Prescott injured his hand in Week 1 of the season. On Sunday night, though, Rush struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles. Completing just 18 out of 38 passes with a 47% completion rate of just 181 passing yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. If there was ever a time for Dak Prescott to return it would be now before the highly competitive NFC East gets away.
As reported by ESPN's Ed Werder, Dak Prescott told reporters after Sunday's loss that he is optimistic that he will return this week. Dallas will play the 1-4 Detroit Lions next week back at home.

Prescott returned to throwing at practice last week and will likely continue with his throwing this week. Which all seems to be leading to the return of Prescott by next week.
