What happened to CJ Mosley? Jets LB carted off vs Titans
CJ Mosley has been carted off the field and the Jets will have to continue the game without their virtuoso linebacker. In a season that has seen a lot of drama for the franchise, off-season onward, its on-field issues are creating even more trouble.
The New York Jets lost their season opener against the San Francisco 49ers and now are facing a tough road in their Week 2 fixture. One of the most pivotal and experienced members of the Jets' defense has been carted off.
“CJ Mosley being carted off.” - Glenn Naughton's tweet.
The Jets tweeted an update on Mosley's condition on X on Sunday:
“LB CJ Mosley (foot) is questionable to return.”
The Jets are trailing against the Tennesse Titans after being unable to score in the first quarter. Aaron Rodgers looks rather ordinary in the game for the second straight week. Now with their defensive lynchpin the five-time Pro Bowler possibly out for the game, the rest of the game will be an uphill battle for the Jets.
CJ Mosley wants victory and not money
CJ Mosley took a pay cut earlier in the offseason despite being one of the best linebackers in the league. Speaking to the media in May, he explained his mindset for this act.
“I don’t care about the money when I get on the football field,” Mosley said. “I just want to win & win with my teammates. The main mindset was I wanted to be here, I wanted to be a New York Jet. Came a long way from 2019."
"When I came here I wanted to help build a winning program & obviously bring a Super Bowl, bring a championship.”
The road to the Super Bowl for the Jets and Mosley will get even tougher if the LB gets sidelined for the coming weeks. Only time will tell the real extent of his injury and its effect on the team.
