What happened to Darron Lee? Former Jets first-round pick arrested for allegedly assaulting his mom

Former first-round linebacker Darron Lee, who was drafted by the New York Jets in 2016, has been arrested for attacking his mother and the mother of his son.

According to information obtained by TMZ Sports, Lee has been arrested on four separate charges. He's being charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic violence and two counts of misdemeanor assault. He's currently behind bars as of Tuesday morning.

Police were called by the mother of Lee's baby, Lindsey McGlone, on Monday in Dublin, Ohio. She stated that Darron had attacked his mother Candice Lee.

Candice, according to TMZ Sports, claimed that her son first shouted at her and then, taking hold of her, pushed her against the wall. He then threw Candice on the floor and even punched her several times. It was McGlone who intervened to stop the assault on Candice.

McGlone then told the police about an incident on October 17 where Lee had assaulted her while accusing the lady of cheating.

McGlone claims that Darron Lee attacked her in bed and threatened to kill both her and their child. He allegedly also attacked her throat.

She also claims to have been hit by her phone that Darron threw on the wall and which rebounded on to her head. McGlone says that she was also assaulted while she was going downstairs.

Was Darron Lee a first-round bust?

Following his recent troubles with the law, it should eliminate any chance of Darron Lee ever returning to the football field.

While he showed some potential in his first couple of seasons with the New York Jets, Lee was ultimately a bust for being a first-round pick.

He was never selected to a Pro Bowl or an All-Pro team, and was never part of a championship-winning team.

He lasted three seasons with the Jets, from 2016 to 2018, before playing for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 and the Bills in 2020.

Darron Lee finished his career with 273 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, three interceptions, and one defensive touchdown.
