The Guernsey County Sheriff's Office has now officially indicted Josh Sills on the charges. The offensive lineman is due to appear in court on February 16, 2023, in Guernsey County, Ohio, just four days after the Philadelphia Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

The Ohio native played in just one game this season for the Philadelphia Eagles on October 9, 2022 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Eagles won that game 20-17. Sills mostly made appearances on special teams during that game.

His status for Super Bowl LVII is now unknown, and a statement from the Philadelphia Eagles has yet to be released.

While there hasn't been a statement from the Eagles yet, the NFL has placed Josh Sills on the Commissioner's Exempt List, according to Ian Rapoport via Twitter.

The NFL placed Eagles’ Josh Sills on the Commissioner Exempt List following today’s indictment by a grand jury in Ohio. Sills may not participate in practices and games or travel with the team while on the List.

It will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Being on this list means Sills "may not participate in practices and games or travel with the team." It will be reviewed under the NFL's personal conduct policy, Rapoport stated.

How long has OL Josh Sills played for the Philadelphia Eagles?

The 25-year-old offensive lineman played his collegiate football at West Virgina University from 2016 until 2019. He then transferred to Oklahoma State. Before transferring in 2019, he played in just two games with West Virginia University.

During his senior year at Oklahoma State, he started all 11 games and received votes for Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. He then decided to declare for the NFL Draft, but the results weren't what the offensive lineman expected.

He went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Philadelphia Eagles, however, signed him as an undrafted free agent. During training camp, he competed for a spot on the final roster and was one of three undrafted players who made the cut.

He has been on the active roster the entire season but has only appeared in one game this season. So, if the Eagles decide not to allow him to travel to Super Bowl LVII, it won't have a big impact on the starting lineup.
