What happened to Najee Harris? Steelers RB suffers injury vs. Colts on MNF
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris can't seem to catch a break in 2022. While playing against the Indianapolis Colts, the 24-year-old looked in good form early on as his team put Matt Ryan and the hometown Colts to the sword.
Najee Harris rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and caught one pass for four yards. However, the running back appeared to injure his foot late in the first half as he was clearly hobbled from the opening kickoff.
With the 3-7 Steelers up 16-3 against the Colts, not having Harris could hamper their efforts to notch their fourth win of the 2022 season.
Najee Harris' injury: How did the Steelers RB get hurt?
The running back was hurt during the offseason as he suffered a Linsfrac injury to his foot. With the 24-year-old hobbling, many thought that was what his injury was.
Najee Harris went down into the locker room at half-time and did not reappear with his teammates to start the second half. Per the Steelers, Harris was ruled out with an abdominal injury.
That is a bit odd.
Whether or not Harris is dealing with a stomach issue is unknown as he showed next to no signs of any abdominal distress throughout the first half. But the team did state that was his issue.
Now, though, he will be sitting out the remainder of the game as he hopes his Steelers can close out a win over the Colts.
When will Najee Harris return from injury?
Given that the team has stated it is an abdominal injury, whether or not it is a strain or not will largely determine how long he is out for. If it is a serious strain, then we can likely expect multiple weeks on the sidelines.
For the Steelers, they will be hoping their star running back will be available as they head into the home stretch of the 2022 season.
