What happened to Stevan Ridley? Ex-Patriots Super Bowl winner arrested

It can't be Super Bowl week without mention of a former New England Patriots player, and today it's running back Stevan Ridley. However, it is not under good circumstances.

Per TMZ.com, the 34-year-old running back was arrested in his hometown of Natchez, Mississippi, early Sunday morning, on a misdemeanor conduct charge, according to the Natchez Democrat. He has already been released from custody, according to report.

Former Patriots RB Stevan Ridley was arrested over the weekend in Natchez. I just spoke with Natchez Police, who say they were called to a bar/club around 1AM Sunday, and Ridley was arrested for disorderly conduct. Ridley has since bailed out.

This is just the latest incident that involves a former NFL player allegedly getting in trouble with the law.

Taken in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft by the New England Patriots, Ridley played 73 games across eight seasons. His best output came in his second season, when the running back out of LSU rushed for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Howerver, that was as good as it got for the running back, although he did help Tom Brady win one of his seven Super Bowl rings in 2014.

Ridley never started more than 12 games in a season (his career best came in 2012) as he was in and out of the lineup.

This is pretty good. Stevan Ridley, a 1,000-yard rusher for the Patriots in 2012, said his exit from New England ‘hadn’t sat well,’ circled this game a while back. https://t.co/DZAwdbXgjo

After his superb second season, the running back's output dropped in 2013, totaling just 773 yards and seven touchdowns.

While his first three years were fruitful, after that, he failed to hit the heights of earlier in his career.

He spent four years in New England before bouncing around the league. He played for the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons before finishing in Pittsburgh with the Steelers.

He totaled 3,102 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns in 73 career games.
