What's the secret to Aaron Rodgers' peaceful lifestyle? Packers QB talks meditation, yoga retreats

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the most popular and scrutinized quarterbacks in the league.

While the QB is always pinpointed in the media, he enjoys life away from football doing peaceful things.

Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday and spoke with McAfee about many different topics. One of them was the secret to his lifestyle, which includes yoga, meditation, and darkness retreats.

Rodgers said:

"We're all just trying to do our best on our journey. For me, this is the, you know, things that work for me. I've done many, you know, similar things to this. I haven't done this specific darkness retreat, but I've done many meditation retreats and yoga retreats and you know, things that have stimulated my mind and helped me get in a better, better, better headspace and have greater peace in my life."

Rodgers added:

"And I think that should be you know, it doesn't have to be champion. But you know, it's closer to being champion, I think then being just ripped apart and judged. I think is probably a better way to view it."

Last week, Aaron Rodgers spoke with McAfee on his show and told him that he intends to go on a darkness retreat to help him clear his mind and decide his NFL future.

He told McAfee that he plans on being in complete darkness, alone, so he can get a better understanding of what he wants to do. As part of his peaceful retreat, Aaron Rodgers hinted at the idea of taking psychedelics, including DMT, as he talked about hallucinating during the trip.

Rodgers said:

"There's a two-way, like a little slot that they'll drop in some food for you, but it's isolation and darkness," Rodgers said. "No, you know, no music, no nothing. You're in there for four nights. And then you come out on the on the last day after the fourth night. Sensory deprivation isolation."
"It's not like you bring a journal or you bring, you know, music or anything," Rodgers said. "There's no sounds. It's just, you know, sitting in isolation, meditation, being with your thoughts. It stimulates DMT, so there can be some hallucinations in there. But it's just kind of sitting in silence which, you know, most of us never do," added Aaron Rodgers.

There's no argument that a peaceful lifestyle can derive from meditation, yoga, darkness retreats, and drug use (for some people.) Rodgers will be going on his soon and it might help him decide his future and what he decides to do.
