What is the TB12 diet? Inside Tom Brady's regimen adopted by Bears' Caleb Williams

Many, seemingly including Caleb Williams, credit Tom Brady's strict diet for the quarterback's ability to play into his mid-40s. Williams has, in fact, adopted the same regimen as the Patriots icon. According to an August 9 article by ESPN, Williams started on this diet before training camp.

The article states that the diet is mostly plant-based. This eliminates sugars, refined carbohydrates and caffeine. The goal? Reduce inflammation.

Tom Brady has been made fun of for his diet many times over the years. However, by beating Father Time better than any other quarterback in NFL history, perhaps there is something to it. It appears Williams is willing to gamble on that.

At just 22 years old, Williams could double his age and still have gas left in the tank if he wanted to play as long as Brady.

However, Williams has one key advantage over Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl winner didn't start the intense diet as a rookie. Williams will be. If the food intake is truly the difference, Williams might have a shot to play longer than Brady.

If Williams jumps to the top of the NFC in a Brady-esque fashion, that could tie up the conference for more than two decades. Brady would at least make the AFC championship round most years, meaning that the Patriots quarterback always had a late say in which team would go to the Super Bowl.

As such, if Caleb Williams' diet and his playmaking abilities elevate him to a similar standard, he could be that player in the NFC with no clear yearly Super Bowl pick.

Chicago Bears fans waited months to see if their team would take Williams in the NFL Draft. Then, fans waited even longer to see him in action. After eight months of waiting, Bears fans are slated to see their new lineup in action.

According to Fox Sports, both Williams and Josh Allen are expected to play in what could be the game of the day. Of course, it might be more accurate to label it as the quarter of the day as starters rarely play for an extended period in their first real preseason game.

The Bears played in the Hall of Fame game, but considering it was an extra game, both teams didn't have their starters. That changes on Saturday, August 10, at 1 PM EST.
