"That Super Bowl could wait": When Tyreek Hill refused to handcuff himself to Patrick Mahomes' brother Jackson
Tyreek Hill played five seasons with Patrick Mahomes and was an integral part of the 2020 Super Bowl win. Although he was Mahomes' top target, he didn't hold back when it came to his opinion on the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback's younger brother, Jackson.
In August 2022, Hill was a guest on Jake Paul's podcast, "BS w/ Jake Paul" and was asked if he was willing to be handcuffed to Jackson Mahomes for 24 hours in exchange for another Super Bowl title. The wide receiver, who now plays for the Miami Dolphins, immediately said there was no way he would do so.
"Oh no, no, no. No way! You said handcuffed to Jackson Mahomes?" Hill said.
Tyreek Hill added that he would just wait to win another Super Bowl rather than spend 24 hours handcuffed to Jackson. His answer caused Jake Paul to laugh hysterically.
"I ain't even gonna cap to y'all. That Super Bowl could G** d*** wait," Hill said.
Whether it is the TikTok dances or something else, Tyreek Hill wasn't on board to spend that much time with Jackson Mahomes.
Tyreek Hill posted cryptic social media message after DeAndre Hopkins trade
The Kansas City Chiefs were in desperate need of a WR after injuries ravaged their passing game. With Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice injured, the defending Super Bowl champions made a trade for Tennessee Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins.
After the trade was announced on Wednesday, Tyreek Hill took to X and posted a cryptic message. Hill's post left many wondering what it meant and assumed it must have something to do with the Hopkins trade because of the timing.
"hm." -Hill wrote on X.
The "hm" abbreviation sometimes refers to high maintenance so it's unclear if Hill was trying to send a message to his former team or not. However, his post came just a few hours after the trade was confirmed.
He was rumored to be an option to return to the Kansas City Chiefs at the beginning of the season. Working out a trade, if Hill was in favor of one, would have likely cost the Chiefs more than the late-round draft pick they dealt in the Hopkins trade.
