“Who accused us?”: Jason Kelce gloats after Eagles beat anti-tampering investigation for signing Saquon Barkley

Jason Kelce spent his entire pro career with the Philadelphia Eagles. So, it is to be expected for him to have a soft corner for his team despite taking retiremen. And this fondness was on display as the Eagles got a clean chit for the signing of Saquon Barkley.

The Eagles came under investigation for alleged violation of the NFL’s anti-tampering policy, which states that teams cannot approach a free agent athlete for recruiting purposes before the NFL’s predetermined deadline. After the Eagles signed Saquon Barkley from the New York Giants, they were under the radar for the violation.

Earlier this month, the NFL gave its verdict that the Philadelphia Eagles were not guilty of violating the anti-tampering policy. This sent the former Eagles Super Bowl winner Jason Kelce over the moon. On his podcast ‘New Heights,’ he broke down all aspects of the news with his brother Travis Kelce.

Jason asked:

“I don't know who accused us.”
Travis Kelce replied:
“Might have been the New York football Giants."

Travis then proceeded to read the NFL statement:

"After revealing text messages, emails, and other documents related to the signing the interviewing of say Saquan Barkley, General Manager Howie Roseman, and head coach Nick Sirianni and Penn State Head Coach James Franklin, the NFL found no evidence the team violated the tampering, the anti-tampering policy.”
"Wonderful if the quads don't fit, you must acquit,” Jason replied. [00:54:35 - 00:55:07]

The seven-time Pro Bowler used the reference from O.J. Simpson’s infamous double homicide case to end this discussion.

Jason Kelce will be joining the analyst booth

Over the years, Jason Kelce has won fans all over the league with his wit. They will be on display when the upcoming season starts. The former Eagles center signed a $1.8 million contract with ESPN to participate in their Monday Night Football.

Jason Kelce confessed to feeling “nervous” about this new job. Fans will be able to either judge his nervousness or the lack of it on Sept. 9 as the New York Jets face the San Francisco 49ers in their season opener covered by Monday Night Football.
