Who will get a bigger contract between CeeDee Lamb and Ja'Marr Chase? Deshaun Watson weighs in

CeeDee Lamb and Ja'Marr Chase are two of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and each is due for a contract extension.

Lamb set franchise records last season for most receptions and receiving yards in a single season in Cowboys history and was named a first-team All-Pro last season. Chase set a single-season record for most receptions (100) while recording his third-straight 1,000-yard season. He was named to his third-straight Pro Bowl to begin his NFL career.

With both receivers likely to get a big extension soon, Cleveland Browns quarterback, Deshaun Watson weighed in on who he thinks will get a bigger contract. Joining QB Unplugged with former NFL quarterback Quincy Avery, Watson predicts that Lamb will get a bigger deal than Chase.

"I will say Ceedee because they're Dallas," Watson said. "And I guarantee the Bengals, they want to try to keep both (Ja'marr and Tee Higgins) but now if you're Chase, he's gonna sit there and be like "bro I need at least $150M or $140M, like give me the same deal you feel me?"
"Like I'm not I'm not trying to take anybody short... and CeeDee gets $140.5M or something, you know $500k more, nothing too crazy but very similar."

Lamb could get his contract first as he is in the final year of his rookie deal. Chase will enter his fourth season this year and is under contract next season as the Bengals picked up his fifth-year option for the 2025 season. If CeeDee Lamb gets extended this off-season and Chase waits until next off-season to get extended, he could end up with the bigger contract.

With the desire to secure a contract extension, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is holding out. He has been absent from the team's mandatory minicamp.

The Cowboys held their 2024 mandatory minicamp from June 4-6. Lamb was absent and was fined over $100,000.

Lamb will be playing on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal, making him set to make $17.9 million this season.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver has become the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. He has signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension that includes $110 million guaranteed. Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown also signed contracts over $30 million yearly this off-season.
