Why did Kevin Hart think DK Metcalf was on drugs? Seahawks WR recounts hilarious story
DK Metcalf is one of the more athletic wide receivers today. The Seattle Seahawks star had gone viral for his high jumps, also impressing everyone during the NBA Celebrity All-Star game. He dunked and swatted the ball away expertly, earning the MVP honor after the game.
However, Metcalf wasn't always 6'4". While on "Cold as Balls" with Kevin Hart, Metcalf went into detail about his sudden growth spurt. Something that the famous comedian didn't agree with.
Hart asked Metcalf about his high school and what position he played. An Ole Miss graduate, DK Metcalf attended Oxford High School.
"No. I played receiver by then. I was about 5'10''. I didn't get this big until I got to college," Metcalf said.
Hart's response was explosive:
"What the f*** is happening? What's going on?"
Metcalf was confused by Hart's response, explaining that he had "late puberty." Hart, however, wasn't convinced.
"What do you mean what do I mean? What do you use? Just tell me what you using," he added. "You think it's all puberty? So you just hit a growth spurt in college out of nowhere?"
The 25-year-old explained a little more in detail, letting Hart know that he was 6'4" by freshman year.
"I went to college 6'1'', 180 (lbs). And then after my freshman year I was 6'4'', 220".
DK Metcalf came forward with a stunning dunk at the NBA Celebrity All-Star game
Metcalf, playing for Team Dwyane, was practically unstoppable at the All-Star game at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. With just 27 seconds left in the third period, he reached for the rim after receiving a pass from near the three-point line.
The dunk shook the rim as the crowd was up on its feet cheering for the Seahawks WR.
Metcalf's performance earned him the MVP award for the celebrity game. He finished the game with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Kevin Hart himself is a three-time NBA All-Star Celebrity Game MVP. However, with the 43-year-old retired, the baton seems to have passed on to Metcalf.
