At just 28-year's old, it is surely not how the running back would have wanted his career to end. He burst onto the scene with the L.A. Rams after being taken at Pick 10 in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Many thought Gurley was going to be the Rams' number one running back for the next decade. Unfortunately, injuries have ruined what could have been a Hall of Fame career.

Coming into the league at 21 years of age, the running back now exits just six years later. He hasn't played since 2020 and is now looking forward to the next chapter of his career.

In total, Gurley played 88 games, rushed for 6,082 and 67 touchdowns on the ground and 12 touchdowns through the air. He was also a Pro Bowler in three of his six seasons, which included back-to-back in 2017 and 2018.

At just 28-years-old, Gurley likely retired due to the number of injuries he sustained throughout his NFL career. They include multiple strains and just the general wear and tear that comes with being an NFL running back.

While in college at Georgia, he suffered the dreaded ACL injury. That left knee continued to give him trouble throughout his NFL career. The knee injury held him back in 2019 and still very much troubled him right up until the end of his career.

Looking at his stats, the running back was still productive in his final season in 2020 with Atlanta. He rushed for 678 yards and nine touchdowns in his 15 games.

At just 28, it was hoped that we might see the running back one more time. Unfortunately, that won't be the case.

Enjoy retirement, Todd.
