Will Aaron Rodgers be on the Pat McAfee Show today? Latest on Jets QB after Robert Saleh's firing
Over the years, Aaron Rodgers has been a recurring guest on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show. The quarterback has doused and flamed several fires during his appearances. Now that his team is in a tough spot, with the head coach Robert Saleh being fired, A-Rod’s opinion on the matter is worth gold.
Last Sunday, the New York Jets suffered their third defeat of the season in five games. This loss displayed the lack of cohesion in the team, faltering at important junctures. This had been a theme throughout the season. On Monday, the front office fired Robert Saleh.
Superstar QB Aaron Rodgers has yet to speak his mind on the debacle. The 40-year-old promised the fans a great run but could not deliver it in the first five weeks of the NFL season. Now, Pat McAfee has announced A-Rod’s appearance on his show.
“Ladies and gentlemen.. Source(s) are telling me that Aaron Rodgers will be joining The Progrum TOMORROW,” tweeted McAfee.
The Jets have replaced Saleh with Jeff Ulbrich, who was brought in as the defensive coordinator in 2021. Ulbrich will continue in his job as the DC and will have the added responsibilities of interim head coach. Rodgers will have more to speak on the matter and shed light on several things that Jets and NFL fans want to know.
Aaron Rodgers had voiced his opinion against Robert Saleh
After the Jets lost to the Denver Broncos 10-9 in Week 4, Robert Saleh had derided the cadence play being used at the line of scrimmage. However, Aaron Rodgers spoke to the media and countered the narrative as per ESPN.
“That’s one way to do it; the other way is hold them accountable,” Rodgers said. "It’s been a weapon. We use it every day in practice. We rarely have a false start, and to have five today, it seemed like, four or five, it seems like an outlier. I don’t know if we need to make mass changes based on kind of an outlier game.”
Rodgers and Saleh did not see eye-to-eye in tactical departments, given the QB and the HC stated differing views on cadence in public. A-Rod & Co. will have to show off solid gameplay against their divisional rivals the Buffalo Bills next in their Week 6 matchup.
