“I wish I had more in common with Tom Brady,” - Ben Affleck knew exactly what made the Bucs QB the GOAT
After seven Super Bowl wins to Tom Brady's name it's certainly safe to say he's probably the greatest of all time. While few will disagree, Brady has been proving his greatness season after season. In fact, Hollywood star Ben Affleck also shares the sentiment.
Having spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star, Affleck had a few points to share. Just a few moments with Brady had him convinced that the QB was indeed the GOAT.
On the Bill Simmons Podcast last year, Affleck discussed Brady and what he learned by spending some time with him.
“I wish I had more in common with Tom Brady,” Affleck said.
“I played catch with the man once and realized how very little we had in common. He was throwing the ball to me and I was praying to God, not just because I wanted to impress the guy — which I very much did — but because I thought I would really get hurt because it shows up right in front of your face" .
After 10 minutes, Brady added that he was ready to up the game now, which Affleck was not sure about. The actor was trying his best and wasn't sure he could stretch some more.
“So, I have some things I have in common with Tom, I like to think,” Affleck continued. “People both know who we are sometimes and we were in New England and that’s sort of about it.”
Why did Tom Brady call Ben Affleck?
As per Affleck, Brady called him over and used now ex-wife Gisele Bundchen's name as an excuse.
According to the 45-year-old QB, Bundchen was tired of catching for him, and Affleck was the next best option.
Affleck, always a fan, thought Brady woke up and decided that he was going to make everyone's dreams come true.
Furthermore, Affleck realized how much of a workout the practice was.
"He uses it as a workout and he works you out,” Affleck added. “All of a sudden, you’re like, ‘I’m going to work harder than I have in the last 25 years.'"
The 50-year-old, who last made a cameo in Clerks III, was recently seen at Warner Bros Studios in Los Angeles.
He also has a few projects lined up for next year. The reason for his visit, however, is not yet clear.
Tom Brady and the Bucs, on their end, will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers next after a 17-16 loss against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13.
