"Would be unfair!!": Travis Kelce responds to Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman's pitch to team up
Travis Kelce thinks it would have been unfair had he and Rob Gronkowski ever played on the same team. Kelce and Gronkowski are two of the best tight ends and having them on the same team would have been special.
Speaking on his "Dudes on Dudes" podcast, Julian Edelman asked Gronkowski what it would be like if he played alongside Kelce.
"I think we would be perfect to be on the same team," Gronkowski said. "I feel like we kind of counter each other, we are different players. His aspect of the game, how he can line up anywhere, how he can motion to any point on the field at any given time.
"We would compliment each other unbelievably and I would say we would have been one of the best duos to play. We would have broken the record."
After Gronkowski's comment, Kelce took to social media to respond to his comments and said it would be unfair.
"Dudes…. Same Team!?!? Would be unfair!! Just imagined myself lateraling the ball down field to Rob Gronkowski," Kelce wrote.
Travis Kelce discusses Andy Reid's success post-bye
Kansas City pulled off a 28-18 road win over the San Francisco 49ers following the Chiefs bye week. Kansas City improved to 6-0 on the season.
Speaking on his New Heights podcast, Kelce explained why the team and Andy Reid are so good after a bye week.
"I'm not sure," Kelce said, via SI. "That's his secret sauce, man. He's got the formula, man. He has a unique way to find routines that challenge everybody in the building to be accountable, if that makes sense."
"Like, he has a way to challenge the offensive line. He has a way to challenge the receivers, you know, knowing that a lot of guys are banged up. He has a way to challenge Pat Mahomes and on top of that, he has a way to challenge the coaches to be able to put us in successful positions," he continued.
"I think [if] you give him that extra week of preparation to think about it and really put a game plan together, Coach Reid does it better than anybody, in my opinion, and I think that record proves it."
Kelce has also taken a lesser role in the Chiefs offense this season. He has recorded 28 receptions for 245 yards but he has yet to find the endzone.
Kansas City is on the road to play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
