“Y’all want to know if I hit him in the mouth” – Broncos LB addresses ugly altercation that erupted in aftermath of 51-14 humiliation vs Rams

The Denver Broncos' tempers got the better of them on Christmas afternoon. First, there was an altercation between backup quarterback Brett Rypien and the offensive line and then a scuffle unfolded on the field after the game.

When Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield was speaking to CBS Sports' Tracy Wolfson after the game, things started to get a little feisty. Mayfield let out a "woah" to alert Wolfson that the players were headed their way.

Broncos linebacker Randy Gregory and Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Oday Aboushi got into a fight as both teams headed toward midfield to shake hands. Aboushi turned away from Gregory as he approached him and the Broncos linebacker wasn't having it. He threw a punch straight to Aboushi's head. The two exchanged punches before being separated by teammates.

Gregory spoke to reporters and said that everyone wants to know if he hit Aboushi in the mouth. He then confirmed that he did in fact do so. Both Gregory and Aboushi were wearing helmets and although both threw punches, neither appeared to be injured after the altercation. Gregory said:

“Y’all want to know if I hit him in the mouth, I did."

The National Football League could rule this week to fine Gregory and Aboushi for their actions postgame. Gregory, who threw the first punch, could face a suspension.

Russell Wilson takes the blame for Broncos' Christmas Day struggles

The Denver Broncos lost to the Los Angeles Rams 51-14 on Sunday afternoon. While the offense was unable to get anything going against the Los Angeles Rams' defense, the Broncos defense also made some mistakes as well. But quarterback Russell Wilson didn't see it that way in his postgame comments. Wilson took responsibility for the loss. He said that at the end of the day he had to play better in the game and moving forward he needs to play better:

"I let us down today."

Wilson then said that there were some plays that Denver needed to take advantage of and they didn't do that. Russell Wilson said that he can't be throwing interceptions and that he simply just let his team down.

Russell Wilson went 15 for 27 with 214 passing yards, three interceptions, and just one passing touchdown. He also rushed for 17 yards.

Denver will need to recover from the tumultuous events that transpired during Sunday's game as they face the Kansas City Chiefs next week at Arrowhead Stadium.
