“You f—ked up”: Cam Newton demands media accountability over Deion Sanders’ CBS drama
Cam Newton has spoken in Deion Sanders' favor after the Colorado Buffaloes coach's viral moment at their first preseason press conference. The coach shut down a CBS reporter, the incident setting across discourse among fans and celebrities.
Newton, on his "4th&1 With Cam Newton" podcast, called out CBS and sided with Sanders.
“He was right, and I’m doubling down on that," Newton said. "The thing about the media is this. Any type of publication, everybody wants to be the first to report. That don’t mean the report is accurate. And they don’t know the damage that comes with that report." [2:00-2:30]
In fact, he asked people to hold companies like CBS accountable.
“When are we going to hold people accountable for the people they say, report and blog? This is all about accountability here. CBS, you fu**ed up.”
What did Deion Sanders say to the CBS reporter?
As mentioned, Deion Sanders abruptly shut down CBS' Denver affiliate reporter.
“CBS, I’m not doing nothing with CBS. Next question. It ain’t got nothing to do with you. This is above that. It ain’t got nothing to do with you. I’ve got love for you. I appreciate you. I respect you. It ain’t got nothing to do with you. They know what they did.” (Timestamp: 00:20)
Sanders was adamant about not answering, singling out CBS, letting them know "they know what they did." Sanders, however, did not elaborate on the issue.
Cam Newton continues to make candid statements through his podcast
Cam Newton is often in the news with his podcast. Talking about ongoing NFL issues, Newton continues to speak his mind to his followers and fans.
Earlier in August, Newton called out Las Vegas Raiders rookie Trey Taylor for trolling Patrick Mahomes with a Kermit doll. Newton asked Taylor to stop 'bullsh**ing,' asking him to remember that Mahomes is no Kermit.
Newton's comments aren't limited to the NFL world. He has also spoken about the Nike conspiracy theory surrounding the USA basketball team. As per multiple theories, Nike had an influence on deciding the roster for the Paris Olympics team. Newton simply advised people not to take everything so seriously, noting that conspiracy theories are common these days.
Additionally, Newton has commented on matters, such as Taylor Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce and Bill Belichick's new romance with 23-year-old Jordon Hudson.
With the 2024 NFL season starting in September, more such conversations from Cam Newton can be expected.
