“You're spoiled” - Skip Bayless blames impossible Tom Brady standard for Bill Belichick’s urge to trade QB

Could Bill Belichick be poised to make a stunning move this offseason by trading quarterback Mac Jones?

Jones showed a lot of promise during his rookie season with the New England Patriots. Last season, however, it appeared that the second-year quarterback took a step backward. While that could be attributed to Matt Patricia's calling or the lack of offensive weapons, the Patriots may not be be willing to be patient with their young quarterback.

Speculation has run rampant as of late that the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick are possibly shopping Mac Jones. They could even be considering drafting a quarterback.

On FS1's "Undisputed" on Wednesday morning, Skip Bayless spoke about the possibility of the Patriots trading Jones. Bayless said that he actually feels bad for Jones because the New England Patriots are always looking for more because of the standards that Tom Brady set during his two decades with the team.

"I do feel sorry for Mac Jones, but I also first guess this. Ahead of that draft, you liked him a little more than I liked him. I didn't dislike him, but I said that Mac Jones would prove to be in pro football. Not bad. That especially in New England, when you're trying to replace that guy, even though Cam did the best that he was the actual first in line.
"Yes, Bayless continued, "And I thought Cam stood up to it pretty well to replace that guy in New England in Foxborough. But here came Mac Jones, and he did pretty well in that first year detailed. And yet I said before his draft, he'll always leave you wanting just a little bit more because you're spoiled rotten because you had the goat playing for you for 20 years."

Bayless said that Brady "spoiled" Bill Belichick by being the "G.O.A.T" and that they no longer have the patience to wait for a quarterback to be successful. Could Belichick's impatience lead to Mac Jones being on his way out of New England?

Why is Bill Belichick 'shopping' QB Mac Jones?

It's not just the performance on the field that has New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick interested in trading quarterback Mac Jones. Apparently, the quarterback called Alabama's coaching staff, where he played college football, and asked for assistance on how to handle the Patriots coaching staff.

With the issues he had last year and apparent communication issues between both parties, Jones was looking for a way to settle the situation.

According to @ProFootballTalk:

Bill Belichick has shopped Mac Jones to "multiple teams" this offseason https://t.co/3gcyTcANyQ

Word got back to the Patriots and Belichick that the quarterback had called the Alabama staff. From Belichick's view, that is a case of taking in-house issues and making them public, which the longtime head coach is against. Therefore, this action, along with an underwhelming second season, has him contemplating possibly trading his quarterback this offseason.
