“You wanna catch touchdowns, you run the right routes” - Aaron Rodgers scolds Christian Watson in win vs Rams

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been critical of his rookie wide receivers all season. Even in training camp, the veteran quarterback told reporters that if the rookies couldn't catch passes and run routes, then the team would find receivers who could.

Rodgers and the Packers have a losing record after 15 weeks of the regular season and the chances of making the playoffs are doubtful. But on Monday night, the Packers were able to come out strong against the Los Angeles Rams and get a win.

However, that win didn't come without a few hiccups for the young receiving core. One mistake was committed by Christian Watson, who Aaron Rodgers was still clearly upset with even after the win.

While speaking to ESPN's on-field reporter Lisa Salters, the quarterback was asked if he was still mad at Watson? He said that if Watson wants to catch a touchdown, then he needs to run the right route. Rodgers then laughed before Salters asked him another question.

Lisa Salters: "Aaron, are you still a little mad at Christian Watson?"

The touchdown pass he was referring to was made with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter as the Packers were in the red zone. Rodgers touched his right arm with his left hand, which apparently was a signal for Watson to run a certain route. The receiver apparently didn't see it and the football landed behind him.

Aaron Rodgers was shown on the broadcast yelling toward his rookie receiver. Even with the Packers up by 12 points, Rodgers expected more from his teammates.

While speaking to CBS Sports after the game, the quarterback did praise Watson, saying that he is a 'good kid' and that he cares about making plays and is talented.

“That’s going to happen, he’s a rookie. He’s such a good kid. He really cares about it and he’s so talented.”

Aaron Rodgers believes Packers have a chance to make playoffs

After the Week 15 win over the Los Angeles Rams, the Green Bay Packers are currently 6-8 with three games remaining on the docket. The Packers have about a 12 percent chance of making the playoffs this season, but quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn't giving up hope just yet.

After Monday night's win, AR12 said that he and his teammates knew that they needed to win five games to have a chance. Though they have two wins, they still need three more, but he feels that they still have a chance.

"Well, it's three now. We've got two. Got two in the bag. I don't know. Look, before the Bears week, we knew we had a bye afterwards, and those of us who sometimes peek ahead knew that we had to win five and then have a lot of things go our way. So, we've won two and just about everything we needed to happen has gone our way. Just about, right? So, things are looking up."

Wins against the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams are now two of the wins that the Packers have. But the next three games will be a different story as their upcoming opponents have a combined record of 26-16.

On Christmas Day, the Packers will hit the road to play the Miami Dolphins, who have lost three straight on the road and are looking to bounce back and keep their playoff hopes alive. It will then be two divisional games against the NFC North title winners, the MInnesota Vikings, and then the Chicago Bears.
