Zay Flowers domestic violence allegations: NFL concludes investigation on Ravens WR

Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers was a man of interest in a domestic violence case in January 2024.

At the time, the Ravens said they would "continue to assess" the details of the case as Baltimore Police launched an investigation. On Thursday, March 19, the NFL officially released a statement pertaining to the domestic violence allegations against Zay Flowers.

The NFL's statement read:

"Following a review, the NFL concluded there was insufficient evidence to support a finding that Zay Flowers engaged in any activity that violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy. There will be no action taken by the league."

More details on the domestic violence allegations against Zay Flowers

On January 21, police officers in Acton contacted the Baltimore County police stating that they had received a report of an assault in Owing Mills. The incident in question occurred on Jan. 16.

Per CBS News, a 911 dispatcher received a call from a woman in the Owing Mills townhome. The dispatcher described the woman as "in distress," adding that the woman was crying. However, the woman said that there was no emergency and that she was okay before hanging up the phone.

The woman then went to the police in Acton, Massachusetts and accused a "high-profile NFL player" of a domestic violence incident.

The Baltimore Banner's report added that the woman declined to identify said "high-profile NFL player" and stated that the player's brother drew a gun at her.

She described the sequence of events as "a really bad ten minutes" but added that she "hasn’t been scared since.” However, according to police records, the woman said that she was physically assaulted and suffered multiple bruises during the incident.

While speaking to the police, she said that she was getting a call from the player's agent.

Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said during a press conference in February:

"Obviously domestic violence is something that we are deeply concerned about. And we will continue to assess the situation as it unfolds."

Baltimore Police officially suspended the investigation in late February and declined to bring charges against Flowers.

Will Zay Flowers be suspended by the NFL?

Since the NFL has concluded that they have insufficient evidence to prove that the Ravens WR violated the league's personal conduct policy, Flowers will not be suspended by the NFL.
