Entering Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season, the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles currently hold playoff spots in the NFC. Sportskeeda's Playoff Predictor doesn't expect either of them to hold on to their current rankings by the end of the year. The tool instead projects the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks to replace them.

The Washington Commanders have been one of the biggest brekout teams this season so far and the predictor believes that they will keep it rolling. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has led his team to an impressive 6-2 record so far and they are predicted to finish as the second seed in the NFC with a 13-4 record at the end of the year.

Two of the biggest surprises on the outside looking in of the NFC Playoff picture are the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. The tool doesn't expect them to fight their way back in and actually predicts that both teams will finish the season with losing records. The same can be said for the Eagles, who are projected to lose six of their final 10 games and miss out on the postseason.

The trio of NFC contenders missing out on the playoff would be a shocking result as all of them entered the season with hopes of winning the conference. The predictor instead thinks the NFC playoffs will feature four new teams that failed to make it there last season, with the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings joining the Seahawks and Commanders.
