NFL analyst blames Aaron Rodgers in blowing off date night with wife
Aaron Rodgers is likely feeling the pressure to make a decision on his future as free agency approaches. Even if he isn't, the media feels an exorbitant amount of pressure to be there when he does. They feel this so much that one NFL analyst has admitted to blowing off date night because of the drama occuring halfway across the country.
Speaking on Get Up, NFL analyst Mike Greenberg explained an exchange he had with his wife and the bizarre path it took:
Will the Green Bay Packers retain No. 12 in 2023?
"She wanted to have dinner last night. I said I couldn't because the Rodgers [stuff] is too much and she is now making me go to this play this afternoon. We have theatre tickets for a matinee this afternoon at 2:00, and I told her, 'I cannot go.'"
Greenberg continued, explaining his wife's response:
"She said, 'Why? Are you literally just going to sit there and refresh Twitter every 30 seconds? And I said, 'yes.' She said, 'how long will that go on?' And I said, 'Indefinitely.'"
Aaron Rodgers drama hits fever pitch as dominoes begin to fall in free agency
Derek Carr and Lamar Jackson, two of the biggest potential free agents of the offseason, have both seen critical developments. Carr, who many believed was in competition with Aaron Rodgers to join New York Giants, has signed with the New Orleans Saints.
Meanwhile, Jackson, who's been locked in a multi-year negotiation with the Baltimore Ravens, has essentially been given permission to talk to other teams. Of course, while he isn't a typical free agent, he could still be taken away from the team at any time.
Now, as the situation changes around Aaron Rodgers, fans and analysts are more eager than ever to learn the quarterback's fate after almost two decades with the Green Bay Packers.
