NFL Combine: 5 non-QB prospects tipped to draw eyeballs feat. TCU speed demon Quentin Johnston

The 2023 NFL Combine begins on Monday, and many college athletes will be eager to showcase their abilities to the world. The NFL Combine is the beginning of many players' NFL journey, as they look to leave an impression and improve their draft stock.

While quarterbacks will be the focus of the upcoming draft, many more outstanding players in other positions will be worth watching at the Combine.

Scouts and top team officials from all over the league will tune in to observe players in the Combine since it will give them a better picture of who they hope to draft.

Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud will throw at this week’s NFL Scouting Combine, while Alabama QB Bryce Young will wait to do so for his pro day, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

Young is long past his AC joint injury from this season, but he’ll just do interviews in Indy.

Here is a list of the top five non-quarterbacks who could impress at the Combine this week.

#1 Bijan Robinson - RB

Bijan Robinson, who represented Texas during his collegiate career, is poised to make his mark in the NFL soon. He is predicted to be drafted in the first round, which is a significant accomplishment for a running back.

He is expected to have an immediate impact on any team that drafts him. Many will tune in to watch the Combine just for him.

College Football star Texas RB Bijan Robinson is going to be special in the NFL. Just watch this run. My goodness.

#2 Quentin Johnston - WR

Quentin Johnston is expected to be the first wide receiver to get drafted, as he is arguably the most explosive player in his position. The TCU standout was an important component of his team's success this past season and has the potential to be an exceptional player in the NFL.

The upcoming draft class lacks size among wide receivers, but Johnston is quite tall, making him a player many teams will look to get their hands on. His performance at the NFL Combine will give everyone a better idea of his unique skillset.

Two for the price of one

6’4 with this kind of lateral agility is a joke, Quentin Johnston has such a unique skill set https://t.co/7fo0Oh2s5U

#3 Kelee Ringo - CB

Kelee Ringo: Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl - Ohio State v Georgia
Kelee Ringo: Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl - Ohio State v Georgia

Kelee Ringo had to redshirt his freshman year due to a shoulder injury. Still, he has started on each of the Georgia Bulldogs' successive national championship teams over the last two seasons.

Ringo has all of the surface-level characteristics that NFL teams seek in a cornerback, including size, speed, and explosiveness that could attract eyes at the NFL Combine. Ringo's experience as a member of Georgia's two-time national championship-winning team will aid him in transitioning to life in the NFL.

CB Kelee Ringo (5) is a dynamic playmaker who could make the move to safety in the NFL, per @MoveTheSticks.

The Georgia DB only allowed just one TD in coverage in 2022. Would be a #Patriots fit should he fall to pick 46.

He started this play blitzing…

#4 Darnell Washington - TE

Darnell Washington has the build of an offensive tackle but can move in space like a receiver. As such, he is a unicorn of sorts at the tight end position.

The 2023 tight-end class is one of the best ever, and Darnell Washington's performance at the NFL Combine will undoubtedly entice many teams.

Darnell Washington is a FREAK 😳

The Georgia TE is listed as 6’7”, 270 lbs and is still able to move like this.

One of the biggest TE prospects the NFL Draft has seen. https://t.co/VFuZH3HXfS

#5 Tyjae Spears - RB

Tyjae Spears: Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic - Tulane v USC

In addition to Bijan Robinson, Tyjae Spears is a promising running back prospect in the upcoming draft. The electric runner has exceptional stop-start speed and short-area bursts. Furthermore, Spears has proven to be a versatile player who can impact the game as a runner and receiver.

With another chance to shine in front of NFL coaches and scouts following a spectacular performance at the Senior Bowl, the explosive playmaker's value in a crowded running back class might skyrocket. He will look to elevate his draft stock by putting on a show at the NFL Combine.

I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve audibly laughed watching Tyjae Spears

Most players lose momentum when they change direction, he plants and takes off like a rocket https://t.co/T21CViQ8aG
