NFL players blast Skip Bayless for insensitive tweet about Damar Hamlin injury
While the entire NFL world was concerned about the health of Damar Hamlin, many fans and analysts took to Twitter to express their sadness and prayers about the situation. The Buffalo Bills' safety collapsed on the field and was taken off it in an ambulance, and the game was officially suspended following the incident.
However, not all of the tweets were good. Skip Bayless, a notable analyst from Fox Sports on his show Undisputed, claimed that it would be difficult for the league to postpone the game because of the magnitude as the regular season nears an end.
Bayless was quickly attacked by NFL players and fans alike for his comments, with many claming his priorities seemed to be a little different from what matters now.
Bayless later apologized for his actions, stating that his tweet was misunderstood and that nothing was more critical than Hamlin's health.
What happened to Damar Hamlin?
Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field. He made a routine tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins and got up quickly but then went down. After receiving treatment for over ten minutes, he was taken off the field in an ambulance.
The NFL officially suspended the game after both coaches discussed the decision with game officials. Players from both teams were crying on the field and did not want to continue playing. Damar exited the Paycor Stadium alongside his mother.
The Bills have flown back to Buffalo; they're not staying in Cincinnati following the scary situation. According to the safety's manager, Jordon Rooney, his vitals are back to normal. Hamlin is under tests right now, but his condition is stable.
