NFL Power Rankings: Where does every team stand entering Week 14?

NFL Power Rankings uses many different factors to rank all 32 NFL teams. The overall record of wins and losses is an important thing to take into consideration when comparing teams in the NFL Power Rankings. However, they aren't the only deciding factor for where a team is ranked. Recent results and margins of victory and defeat, among many others, all have a major influence.

The NFL Power Rankings for the 2022 season are starting to take shape entering Week 14. Some teams have separated themselves from the rest of the pack as the clear top teams, while others could probably start looking towards next year. #1 - Philadelphia Eagles (11-1)

The Philadelphia Eagles have had the top record in the NFL for the entire 2022 season so far. They were the last unbeaten team, accumulating a perfect 8-0 record before losing their only game to the Washington Commanders. They have won three more games since then. Jalen Hurts is currently the favorite to win the 2022 NFL MVP award.

#2 - Dallas Cowboys (9-3)

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most balanced teams in the NFL Power Rankings this year. They are the only team with a top-five offense and a top-five defense this season, based on points scored and points allowed per game. Their defense also leads the NFL in pressure and sacks. Micah Parsons is currently the favorite to win the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year award.

#3 - Buffalo Bills (9-3)

The Buffalo Bills were considered by may to be the best team in the NFL Power Rankings for the early part of the season. They stumbled a bit following their hot start, but are back on track by winning each of their last three games. They have the second-best points differential so far, trailing only the Dallas Cowboys.

#4 - Kansas City Chiefs (9-3)

Patrick Mahomes currently leads the NFL in total touchdowns. He is one of the top candidates to be named the 2022 NFL MVP. The Kansas City Chiefs are also one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl, while serving as the top team in the NFL Power Rankings at points this season. They have dropped a few spots since losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.

#5 - Minnesota Vikings (10-2)

While the Minnesota Vikings have the second-best record in the NFL entering Week 14, they check in at fifth in the NFL Power Rankings. This is mostly due to the fact that they have the worst points differential of any team with at least eight wins. This was partially due to being blown out 40-3 by the Dallas Cowboys.

#6 - San Francisco 49ers (8-4)

The San Francisco 49ers are one of the hottest teams in the NFL Power Rankings. They lead all teams with an active five-game winning streak. They will need to figure out how to keep things rolling without Jimmy Garoppolo. He suffered a foot injury in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins and has been ruled out for the remainder of the year.

#7 - Cincinnati Bengals (8-4)

The Cincinnati Bengals have been a bit inconsistent this year, but appear to have found their rhythm. They have the second-longest active winning streak, having won each of their last four games. They earned a crucial victory in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs as Joe Burrow moved to 3-0 in his career against Patrick Mahomes.

#8 - Baltimore Ravens (8-4)

The Baltimore Raves currently sit at the top of the AFC North division standings. Much of this is due to the spectacular performances of Lamar Jackson. He was injured in Week 13 during a victory against the Denver Broncos. The Ravens are claiming it's a minor knee injury, but this is something to keep an eye on.

#9 - Miami Dolphins (8-4)

The Miami Dolphins have one of the best offenses in the NFL, especially in the passing game. Tyreek Hill is leading the NFL in receiving yards in his first year with his new team. The Dolphins had a disappointing Week 13, losing to the 49ers despite Brock Purdy playing the majority of the game for San Francisco.

#10 - Seattle Seahawks (7-5)

The Seattle Seahawks are one of the biggest surprises of the 2022 NFL season. They opened the year in the bottom ten of the NFL Power Rankings, but found themselves in the top ten entering Week 14. Geno Smith has revived his career after spending most of the last few years as a backup quarterback.

#11 - Washington Commanders (7-5-1)

The Washington Commanders are coming on strong after a slow start to the season. They won their first game, but lost the next four, opening the year 1-4. They have recorded a 6-1-1 record since then following a tie with the New York Giants in Week 13. They have steadily climbed the NFL Power Rankings during their streak.

#12 - New York Jets (7-5)

The New York Jets have officially made changes to their starting quarterback position. Mike White took over for Zach Wilson, who was benched for ineffectiveness and a terrible press conference. Their defense ranks in the top five in points allowed per game, so they can shoot up the NFL Power Rankings if their offense can get going.

#13 - Tennessee Titans (7-5)

Derrick Henry is one of only four running backs with more than 1,000 rushing yards entering Week 14, giving him a shot at his third rushing title in four years. He has helped the Tennessee Titans build a comfortable three-game lead in the AFC South division.

#14 - New York Giants (7-4-1)

The New York Giants have struggled in recent weeks, earning just one victory in their last five games. They also have one of the most difficult schedules for the remainder of the 2022 NFL season. They are falling down the NFL Power Rankings and need a strong finish to hang on to their current spot in the NFL Playoffs.

#15 - New England Patriots (6-6)

The New England Patriots lack the talent on their roster compared to many other teams above them in the NFL Power Rankings. They still managed to win half of their games by playing a solid brand of football. They are also the only team with a positive points differential without a winning record.

#16 - Las Vegas Raiders (5-7)

The Las Vegas Raiders are quietly one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. They have an active three-game winning streak, the third-longest active streak in the entire NFL. Josh Jacobs has appeared unstoppable lately, combining for 482 rushing yards during the winning streak.

#17 - Los Angeles Chargers (6-6)

The Los Angeles Chargers have been one of the most disappointing teams in the 2022 season. They have one of the most talented rosters in the league, but have failed to live up to their massive expectations of being legitimate Super Bowl contenders. This is reflected by their ranking of 17th in NFL Power Rankings.

#18 - Detroit Lions (5-7)

The Detroit Lions appear to have turned things around. They have been a competitive team for the last two seasons, but always seemed to be on the losing end of close games. Not recently. They have won four of their last five games following a 1-6 start to the season. Five of their seven losses have been by just one possession.

#19 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-6)

Tom Brady has never found himself as low in the NFL Power Rankings as he has during the 2022 NFL season. Despite his severe regression since last year, he has still managed to keep the Tampa Bay Buccaneers afloat with a 6-6 record. He delivered a vintage performance in Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints. He helped the Buccaneers overcome a 13 point defecit in the fourth quarter to earn a victory.

#20 - Cleveland Browns (5-7)

The Cleveland Browns have heavily relied on their rushing game during the 2022 NFL season. Nick Chubb currently ranks second in rushing yards behind only Josh Jacobs. Deshaun Watson made his return in Week 13 following a suspension. He will need to catch fire down the stretch if the Browns have any shot at making a run at a postseason birth.

#21 - Pittsburgh Steelers (5-7)

It's a new era for the Pittsburgh Steelers as rookie Kenny Pickett has officially begun his career as a starting quarterback. He is quietly gaining momentum, winning three of his last four games. The Steelers will need to win at least four of their final five games to avoid giving head coach Mike Tomlin his first ever losing season.

#22 - Green Bay Packers (5-7)

The Green Bay Packers have finished each of the last three consecutive regular seasons with 13 wins. Aaron Rodgers has also been named the NFL MVP in each of the last two seasons. Neither of these will happen again this year. Rodgers has been one of the most disappointing players this year and the Packers are in serious danger of missing the playoffs.

#23 - Atlanta Falcons (5-8)

The Atlanta Falcons opened the 2022 NFL season with a solid 4-4 record. They have gone on to lose four of their next five games. They are quickly falling down the NFL Power Rankings and are falling out of contention for a spot in the playoffs.

#24 - Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8)

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the most inconsistent teams this year. They have wins over some of the top teams in the NFL Power Rankings, such as the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers. They have also suffered some terrible losses, including to the Houston Texans and Denver Broncos.

#25 - Carolina Panthers (4-8)

The Carolina Panthers are the only team with four or fewer wins this year that have won their most recent game. They earned a victory in Week 12 against the Denver Broncos before being on a bye week in Week 13. They have also released quarterback Baker Mayfield ahead of their Week 14 matchup.

#26 - New Orleans Saints (4-9)

The New Orleans Saints have failed to win consecutive games at any point during the 2022 season. They were pre-season favorites to at least compete for a spot in the playoffs this year, but instead found themselves towards the bottom of the NFL Power Rankings.

#27 - Arizona Cardinals (4-8)

The Arizona Cardinals made Kyler Murray one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL during the 2022 NFL offseason after leading them to the playoffs last year. It appears highly unlikely that he will lead them back there again this year. They need to win all of their remaining games to register a winning record.

#28 - Indianapolis Colts (4-8-1)

The Indianapolis Colts fired head coach Frank Reich after a disappointing start to the 2022 season. They shockingly replaced him with Colts legendary offensive lineman Jeff Saturday, despite having no head coaching experience. The Colts have lost six of their last seven games, including an active three-game losing streak.

#29 - Chicago Bears (3-10)

The Chicago Bears are in the middle of a full rebuild of their roster. They traded away superstars Roquan Smith and Robert Quinn prior to the trade deadline. Despite their terrible record, they appear to have found something in Justin Fields. He has led all quarterbacks in rushing yards this season.

#30 - Denver Broncos (3-9)

Russell Wilson has been one of the biggest disasters of the 2022 season. The Denver Broncos traded away a fortune to acquire him in the offseason and rewarded him with one of the biggest contracts in the NFL. It has resulted in a terrible 3-9 record and one of the worst offenses, averaging the fewest points per game in the entire NFL.

#31 - Los Angeles Rams (3-9)

It's quite shocking to see the defending Super Bowl champions this low in the NFL Power Rankings, but they deserve it. This is especially true considering they retained almost all of their superstars from last year, while also adding Bobby Wagner. Matthew Stafford is unlikely to play for the remainder of the season as he recovers from injuries and the Los Angeles Rams are out of the hunt for the playoffs.

#32 - Houston Texans (1-10-1)

The Houston Texans represent the worst team in the NFL Power Rankings this season. They have managed just one win this entire season, while their active seven-game losing streak is the longest in the NFL.
