"Let's gooooo!" - Patrick Mahomes, Micah Parsons locked in on Caitlin Clark's demolition of South Carolina
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and linebacker Micah Parsons have made some big-time plays in their NFL careers. They recently recognized a big-time player in Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark.
Both Mahomes and Parsons took to Twitter after Clark scored 41 points with eight assists and six rebounds as Iowa defeated South Carolina.
The win put Clark and the Hawkeyes into the NCAA Women's National Championship game. Mahomes tweeted out a simple, yet powerful statement regarding her performance against South Carolina.
Parsons wasn't that far behind in praising the Iowa star's efforts in the game.
Caitlin Clark has impressed not only NFL superstars like Patrick Mahomes and Micah Parsons but fans across the country. She won the Naismith Player of the Year award as the top college basketball player last month. Like Clark, Mahomes and Parsons have won some hardware in their NFL careers.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback recently won his second NFL MVP last season and second Super Bowl MVP in February. The Dallas Cowboys linebacker was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 and is a two-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler.
Patrick Mahomes and Micah Parsons as college football stars
While Clark has proven to be the best player in college basketball, both Mahomes and Parsons have had great football careers in college. Mahomes played three seasons at Texas Tech, leading the Big 12 in passing yards and touchdowns twice.
The Red Raiders star led all of college football in yards and third in touchdowns in his junior season in 2016. He would win the Sammy Baugh award as college football's most outstanding passer that same year.
Parsons spent three seasons at Penn State as one of the best defensive players in the Big Ten. As a sophomore, Parsons finished third in the conference with 109 tackles and tied for fourth with four forced fumbles.
As impressive as the careers that Patrick Mahomes and Micah Parsons had in college, Clark might surpass them both in her own college career.
