Proposed trade sees Eagles emerge as big winners in 2023 NFL Draft simulator in chase for consecutive Super Bowl trip

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to become major players on the first night of the 2023 NFL Draft. With two first-round picks as the Super Bowl runners-up, the Eagles could build even more depth on the roster by trading down or just staying put and adding two stars.

In a proposed trade built with Sportskeeda's Mock Draft Simulator, they would still pick twice during the first round of the draft. But they would trade down to acquire two more second-round picks to improve their roster:

Proposed trade: The Philadelphia Eagles trade their first-round pick (#10, via NO) to the Seattle Seahawks for their first (#20) and second-round (#37 [via DEN] and #52) picks.

With this deal, Philadelphia would once again have two first-round picks just like last year (when they traded one to the Tennessee Titans for wide receiver AJ Brown). But the three second-round picks would represent a major asset for the team - one that needs to clear some cap space and could use some rookie deals.

Philadelphia would use both first-round picks to build their trenches. An unexpected fall for offensive tackle Peter Skoronski from Northwestern would see the Eagles taking him with the 20th overall pick. It would give him an excellent opportunity to develop as a backup while Lane Johnson still plays. Skoronski could also play as a guard and fill the need for a right guard.

The 30th overall pick, the second-to-last of the first night, gives Philadelphia an EDGE rusher in BJ Ojulari, the younger brother of the Giants' EDGE rusher Azeez Ojulari. He's a quick pass rusher who wins with his strength through a variety of pass-rushing moves but lacks the athleticism to be an elite player.

The extra second-round picks would be a big boost for Philadelphia, who have lost many important players to free agency and need some quick fixes. If they want to continue to dominate the NFC, they can't allow their trenches to be torn as it happened with Isaac Seumalo and Javon Hargrave moving to other places.
