Rachaad White injury update: Latest on Bucs RB's status for Week 3 Fantasy Football
Rachaad White and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are off to a 2-0 start. The reigning NFC South champions pulled an upset over the Detroit Lions in Week 2 and avenged last season's NFC Divisional Round loss.
Despite the team's success, the start of the season has been tough for White. The 25-year-old running back has only rushed for 49 yards on 25 carries in two games and also suffered a groin injury against the Lions.
White is among the highly prioritized running backs in fantasy football, and managers need to make plans in advance if he misses action. Check out the most recent injury update for the Buccaneers running back:
Rachaad White injury update: Will RB play in Week 3?
As per reports, Rachaad White practiced with the team on Wednesday and Thursday. As of now, he is on track to play in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.
Although White hasn't played well so far, his presence is crucial for the team's success. Rookie running back Bucky Irving has outperformed White, but the veteran can go nuclear any given week.
The Buccaneers will be at home in Week 3, but the Broncos are a tricky matchup. In two games so far, the AFC West franchise is giving up an average of 19.5 points and 143.5 rushing yards per game.
In their Week 2 loss against the Steelers, the Broncos allowed Najee Harris to rush for 69 yards on 17 carries and Jaylen Warren to rush for 42 yards on nine carries. This coming Sunday, the duo of White and Irving could have a similar impact.
Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is arguably playing the best football of his life. His excellent form, coupled with the presence of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, will open up the field for the two running backs.
In 17 games last season, White rushed for 990 yards and six touchdowns on 272 carries, averaging 3.6 yards per carry. He also had 64 receptions for 549 yards and three touchdowns.
Fantasy managers who have Rachaad White on their team will hope that the Buccaneers running back will finally have a big game and improve his season average of just 2.0 yards per carry.
