Ranking 5 biggest needs for Josh Allen's Bills heading into 2024 NFL training camp
In 2023, Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills had a great performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round, repeating much of what was seen in 2021 at this same stage. The problem is that the result was also the same: a painful defeat against Patrick Mahomes' team.
The Bills underwent major changes, and if they want to compete at the top of the conference, they still need to plug a few holes on the roster before going for the fight.
Check out some of the needs that the Bills still have on the roster.
5 needs that the Bills have to solve before training camp
1 - Another wide receiver
Stefon Diggs' production dropped considerably with Joe Brady running the offense, and the superstar veteran moved teams during the offseason as the Bills got enough of his off-field antics. They drafted Keon Coleman, but the group as a whole still lacks quality and needs reinforcement.
2 - More pass-rushing depth
Von Miller, who signed in 2022 to be the big difference maker in the war against the Kansas City Chiefs, didn't record any sacks during the 2023 season. They're still locked on his contract, but production remains a concern.
3 - Stronger linebacker play
If you've watched the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023, then you know that Nicholas Morrow isn't going to solve any problems as a starter. Since losing Tremaine Edmunds to the free agency, Buffalo has had a problem at the position, especially since Matt Milano got injured in Week 5. He's back, but he can't do the job alone.
4 - A new starter cornerback
The team cut ties with Tre'Davious White after the 2023 season, but the need for a new player is still there. Rasul Douglas isn't a long-term fix and does not possess the same quality, while Kaiir Elam's pick is proving to be a disaster for the team.
5 - Another starter safety
After many years with Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer doing a fantastic job in the position, they have both moved on and won't be on the roster in 2024. Mike Edwards joined, but he's not as good as his antecessors; with Justin Simmons still on the market, they could look for one-year deals with more proven players.
