Ranking the 5 most important players on Miami Dolphins' 2024 roster feat. (Tua Tagovailoa & Tyreek Hill)

Last season, the Miami Dolphins had six Pro Bowlers and an 11-6 record. They had also made the American Football Conference playoffs as a wildcard team. However, they lost 26-7 in the first round of the playoffs to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. This came after defeating the Chiefs earlier this year.

As the Dolphins look to make it a third-straight season making the playoffs in 2024, it won't come easy, playing in the competitive AFC East division. Many thought Miami would win the AFC East division as it was in first place for most of the season. But a late end-of-the-season run from the Bills won them the division.

The Dolphins and the Bills will have to worry about the Jets and Aaron Rodgers threatening to make a run at the division. But like the last few seasons, the division has been up for grabs.

The Miami Dolphins have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. They could certainly make a deep playoff run under coach Mike McDaniel.

Here are the five most important players on the Miami Dolphins heading into the upcoming season:

#1 - Tua Tagovailoa

Like most teams, Miami's quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is one of the most important players on its roster.

Since becoming the team's starter in 2020, Tagovailoa's had a winning season every year and has a 32-19 overall record. Last season, he led the league in passing yards and was named to his first Pro Bowl.

While he played a full season last year, Tagovailoa must stay healthy. He's had a few big head injuries in the past couple of seasons, and when he's off the field, the Dolphins' offense isn't the same.

#2 - Tyreek Hill

At 30, Tyreek Hill may still be the most explosive and dynamic wide receiver.

In his last two seasons, Hill has had exactly 119 catches. Last season, he set a career-high in receiving yards with 1,799 after setting a career-high the season before with 1,710. In his past two seasons combined, he's caught 20 touchdown receptions.

Hill is a playmaker and might be the biggest deep threat in the NFL. He and Tua being on the same page is critical to Miami's offensive success.

#3 - Jalen Ramsey

Like Tyreek Hill, cornerback Jalen Ramsey entered the NFL in 2016. Ramsey was traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Miami Dolphins last season and quickly fit in Miami's secondary.

He missed the first seven games due to a torn meniscus suffered in training camp. Still, Ramsey made the Pro Bowl behind his three interceptions, five pass deflections and 22 tackles.

Ramsey and Jevon Holland will lead the Dolphins' secondary in 2024.

#4 - Terron Armstead

Terron Armstead was the Miami Dolphins' big-ticket signing in 2022. He's played well for the Dolphins the last two seasons and is a leader on their offensive line.

Last season, he missed seven games due to injury but was still named a Pro Bowler. Armstead is one of the most important players on the team, as he is Tua's biggest protector.

#5 - Bradley Chubb

Bradley Chubb was traded to the Miami Dolphins during the 2022 season.

In his first full season with the Dolphins last year, Chubb set career-highs in tackles (74), QB hits (22) forced fumbles (6) and fumble recoveries while recording 11 sacks.

The Dolphins gave up a lot for Chubb, and he showed promise last season. With interior defensive lineman Christian Wilkins no longer with the team, Chubb must step up on the defensive line.
