Ranking top 5 NFL QBs who will land first $60,000,000 contract feat. Dak Prescott

Quarterback contracts continue to rise to astronomical levels across the NFL. They have always been in the most important position and are understandably the highest-paid players in the league by a significant margin. Their price tag also appears to be going up even higher, even for quarterbacks who haven't necessarily earned it.

Joe Burrow set a new record by signing a contract worth $55 million in AAV. Trevor Lawrence recently joined him at the same AAV, which opens the door for several other quarterbacks to surpass them, considering many have had more successful NFL careers than he has.

The bar has been set, and here are five quarterbacks who would soon set a new standard by earning $60 million in AAV, given their current contract situations.

#5 - Jordan Love

The timing could be everything when it comes to Jordan Love and his contract negotiations with the Green Bay Packers. He is in a position to receive a contract extension, and after his incredible first season as a starter, he has plenty of leverage. He exceeded expectations by making it to the playoffs and winning a game last year, so it's not unreasonable that he may demand more than Lawrence.

#4 - Tua Tagovailoa

Tua Tagovailoa is entering the final year of his contract with the Miami Dolphins and reportedly desires an extension prior to the upcoming season. His career path has been similar to Lawrence's, but Tagovailoa made the playoffs last year and was a candidate for the NFL MVP award early in the season. He could demand a higher salary and could possibly get it.

#3 - CJ Stroud

The Houston Texans may have found the next superstar quarterback in CJ Stroud. He performed as one of the best quarterbacks in the league last year and turned in one of the best rookie seasons of all time. He isn't yet eligible for a contract extension due to the rookie rules, but when the time comes, he could become the highest-paid player ever if he continues his dominance.

#2 - Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott has a chance to be the first quarterback ever to earn a contract worth $60 million in AAV. Many rumors have indicated that is what he's seeking prior to the start of the 2024 NFL season. He reportedly wants an extension this year and many believe he wants to be the highest-paid player in the NFL, just like he was the last time he signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

#1 - Patrick Mahomes

While Patrick Mahomes still has nine years remaining on his contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, few would criticize him if he were to ask for a raise. His AAV currently sits at $45 million, but with the market skyrocketing, he may want to be paid accordingly. He is currently the undisputed best quarterback in the NFL, having already won two MVP awards and three Super Bowl rings.
