Rating Jaguars' throwback uniforms: Why Jacksonville's Prowler thread were a long time comingĀ

The Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing style back. This morning, the Jaguars unveiled their Prowler throwback uniforms on X, and are bringing back their retro uniforms this season.

The Jaguars unveiled the uniforms with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, tight end Evan Engram, and wide receiver Christian Kirk with the caption, "Introducing Prowler Throwbacks."

The helmet features a black design of the original primary logo and decal sported during the inaugural season of 1995. It was on the helmet until 2013.

The sleeves will feature the original big cat logo, which shows a prowling jaguar swiping its claw.

The jerseys feature a custom number font that's white with black and gold trim. The white pants will feature a teal stripe down the side with black piping along the sides.

The Jaguars' throwback uniforms are nostalgic, very retro-like, and very exubrant. The only negative about the Jaguars unveiling their Prowler Throwbacks is that they didn't include the throwbacks in white (away) thread and black threads (alternate.) Still, the Jaguars' overall reception of their new throwbacks have been relatively positive.

Fans all over X have already been lobbying for the Jaguars to make their throwback uniforms their new primary jerseys. That's how much good reception they've been getting about the uniforms, and it proves that this particular throwback was long time coming.

The long-awaited Jacksonville Jaguars throwback uniforms are back, and fans can't wait see Trevor Lawrence and company in the old-school unis.

The Prowler Throwbacks will make a return in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 6. This comes on the same day that former head coach Tom Coughlin will be inducted into the Pride of the Jaguars.

Part of the reason why the uniforms are so iconic is because of the sucess the franchise had in them in the 90s. The Jaguars became a franchise in 1995 and made it two AFC Championship games in 1996 and 1999, and looked good doing so.

When you have legends such as Mark Brunell, Fred Taylor, Jimmy Smith, Marcus Stroud, John Henderson, Keenan McCardell, and others that have had succes early on with the franchise while sporing the iconic Prowler unis, it gives some sense of hope that this year's team can replicate the same success.
