Chiefs trade rumors: Brandin Cooks drops hint on social media with contenders circling for Texans WR
Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks has become a trade target amidst the 1-4-1 season the Texans are currently embroiled in. The Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams have contacted the Texans over their star wide receiver.
Recently, on Twitter, the wide receiver liked several trade rumor tweets, which could indicate that he knows he's getting traded sooner or later.
He liked tweets regarding his propensity for being traded as well as discussing the top landing spots for him should the Texans decide to move on.
Being traded is nothing out of the ordinary for the wide receiver, who has already been traded three times in nine seasons. He hasn't played for a team for more than three seasons in his career and this is his third season in Houston.
Potential trade destinations for Brandin Cooks
The Chiefs remain a top destination for the wide receiver. Since sending Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, they've been without a true number one wide receiver, though JuJu Smith-Schuster has done well in recent weeks.
They're a genuine contender that needs a wide receiver, so they remain one of the more likely places for Cooks to go.
The Packers have reached out and they may be a bit more desperate than the Chiefs. They've limped to 3-4, largely due to a lack of pass-catching weapons on offense.
The Rams are 3-3 and haven't gotten the production out of Allen Robinson they would have liked, but Cooper Kupp, Robinson and the former Texan would make a lethal combination.
Other teams could reach out, too. The New York Giants don't have the passing offense they may want. They're 6-1, and adding a top wide receiver could go a long way.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have limped to 3-4 and are in first place, but they are in desperate need of help on offense. They have a good trio of wide receivers, but a team can never have enough weapons.
The Baltimore Ravens recently signed Desean Jackson to play wide receiver, but Cooks would easily be their best wide receiver and a top target on offense.
Should the Texans decide to move him, they should have plenty of options for a trade partner. There are plenty of teams that Cooks can go to and make an instant impact.
