NFL Rumors: Jerry Jones hints at Cowboys potentially signing Odell Beckham Jr.

The Dallas Cowboys have enjoyed a great start to their 2022 NFL campaign. Sitting pretty with a 5-2 record in the NFC East, the Cowboys' defense has been reminiscent of the fabled Doomsday defense of the early 70s.

While quarterback Dak Prescott is back from injury firing on all cylinders, 'America's Team' could use some reinforcements on offense. Owner Jerry Jones seems to have one key player in mind.

When asked about his team signing superstar free agent Odell Beckham Jr., Jones refused to rule out the possibility (per SI.com):

"Well, I couldn’t say that... (But) I think you can get in a little water with that one."

Beckham is currently recovering from a knee injury he endured during Super Bowl LVI while taking on the Cincinnati Bengals. OBJ got off to a flying start, scoring a touchdown and putting up 52 receiving yards from just two catches.

Currently receovering, Beckham was let go by the Los Angeles Rams after their Super Bowl win as his contract had run out. The Rams have been vocal about a potential reunion with Beckham. But teams like the Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs are contenders to land the four-time Pro Bowler.

Odell Beckham should be fit to take the field again around mid-November. But according to recent reports, it seems like the former Rams star will need to be a little more patient with his ACL recovery.

Beckham's injury return has been pushed back by another month and he is expected to be back around mid-December. Many analysts have suggested that teams will likely make a move for Beckham when the playoffs are closer.

The Cowboys could surely consider signing OBJ. The wideout proved that he still has the goods to deliver on the big stage with some stellar performances with the Rams last season.

When it comes to shutting down the haters, Beckham surely knows a thing or two from his days in Cleveland. With the Cowboys in position to make the playoffs, joining the franchise could well aid the wideout in making it two Super Bowl rings in as many years.
