NFL Rumors: 49ers Pro Bowler’s wife reveals what NFL WAGs have to go through on game days
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner is a two-time All-Pro who is proven to be one of the best defensive players in the NFL. However, a day in the life of the linebacker pales in comparison to his wife, Sydney Warner.
The former contestant on the hit show "The Bachelor" married the Pro Bowler back in June 2022. She gave fans a look into the day in the life of NFL WAGs.
Warner shared a video on her TikTok about secrets regarding the wife of an NFL player that fans are not aware of. She opened the video by saying she was shocked by how the NFL players were paid.
Warner said:
“They get a paycheck just like every other normal job, just like everyone else."
She jokingly stated that she assumed a Brinks truck dropped off a lump sum of money at their house. The 49ers linebacker signed a five-year contract extension in excess of $95 million in June 2021. On the night prior to the game, Warner commented that interactions with your loved ones are prohibited.
Warner said:
“You’re not allowed to spend the night with your significant other on away games or home games. For away games they are obviously in a hotel, but if I choose to go to the same hotel, we’re not allowed to be in the same room and then home games they also sleep in a hotel.”
49ers players also have to be in bed by 10:30 p.m. on the night prior to games and have a bed check so that they can control the players' surroundings before games. She also spoke on how NFL WAGs do not get free entrance to games that their loved ones play in.
Sydney Warner on ticket prices and her interaction with fans during the 49ers - Eagles NFC Championship game
NFL WAGs are required to pay for their tickets to attend games. Warner explained that they also need approval from the team before going on the field.
Warner said:
“All your tickets to games, home and away, aren’t free. They are at a discounted rate, but they’re not free. You have to ask for those passes and if you get cleared you get one, you don’t just get them every game. You have to ask and be approved.”
She attended the 49ers game against the Philadelphia Eagles last month and noted that her experience at Lincoln Financial Field was not a pleasant one. Warner said she was minding her own business, trying to get some food at a concession stand. Then, an inebriated Eagles fan got in her face and attempted to scare her.
Warner said:
"I tried my best to just not let it get to me. "Like stay stone face, just walk and just let them throw stuff at you, say all the things and just get to where you're going. Just block it out."
The wife of the 49ers linebacker likely commented that she won't be returning to Philadelphia anytime soon. Needless to say, the life of an NFL WAG isn't as glamorous as some make it out to be.
