NFL Trade Rumors: Everything Jerry Jones’ Cowboys have said about an Odell Beckham Jr. trade so far
Odell Beckham Jr. remains unsigned as we get into the thick of Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season. For one of the best players in the league in his position, it is an unexpected place to be. Considering he won the most recent Super Bowl with the LA Rams, one would have thought he would be snapped up by a team by now.
But what has complicated the outlook is the injury he suffered during that game. Odell Beckham Jr. started efficiently and was looking the real deal until he tore his ACL during the Super Bowl. That injury put him out of contention not only for the game but also for a large part of this season.
Hence, the reluctance by many teams to sign him so far. The LA Rams did not help him either, with those doubtful of his recovery seeing a red flag in re-signing him.
But one believes that as soon as Odell Beckham Jr. is declared fully fit, he will have teams lining up for his signature. One franchise in conversation is the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones was recently asked about him and confirmed that he admires the wide receiver a lot.
Former Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman also has advice for Jerry Jones to sign the wide receiver as he believes that Dak Prescott needs more weapons around him. Aikman said that to win the Super Bowl, they need a more explosive offense and the former Rams receiver can fill in the gap left by Amari Cooper.
Analyst Michael Irvin also believes that Beckham will be open to going to the Dallas Cowboys and claimed to have inside knowledge that the wide receiver would love to play there. But even if that were to happen, the Dallas Cowboys will face stiff competition from other teams who have been linked to Beckham as well.
Odell Beckham Jr. trade rumors
Odell Beckham Jr. has been linked with a sensational return to the New York Giants. His former teammate Saquon Barkley Jr. engaged in a Twitter conversation that set the hearts of Giants fans racing. He has also been linked to the Buffalo Bills after his former Super Bowl-winning teammate Von Miller went there in the offseason.
Beckham has reportedly also visited the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is a Louisiana native and with Cole Beasley dropping out after signing for the Buccaneers, they might still be interested in Beckham.
Odell Beckham Jr. injury update
Odell Beckham Jr. is targeting a mid-November return to full fitness. That would allow him to get a better sense of where the market is after the Nov. 1 trade deadline. He will be able to see where his perfect fit is and go from there.
