NFL Trade Rumors: Rams still actively looking to shop free-agent signing bust Allen Robinson
A little over a year ago on March 17, 2022, wide receiver Allen Robinson signed a lucrative three-year, $46.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
Robinson was a free agent after spending the prior four seasons with the Chicago Bears. He signed a three-year deal worth $42 million contract with Chicago in 2018.
In 2021 Robinson played his final year with the Bears on the franchise tag, earning $17.9 million.
After a season with the Rams, the team is looking to move on from the star wideout. He had a disappointing season with the team, recording 33 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games played. His season ended early as he was placed on injured reserve on November 29, 2022.
As per Dov Kleiman, LA is still looking to trade Allen Robinson:
"Update: Rams are still open to trading WR Allen Robinson., via @JourdanRodrigue. The Rams signed Robinson to a 3-year, $46.5M deal last offseason but he finished the year with less than 340 yards. The Rams granted Robinson permission to seek a trade."
The Rams signed Robinson last offseason with plans for him and Cooper Kupp to be one of the best WR duos in the league. Injuries were a burden last season for the Rams as Robinson, Kupp, Matthew Stafford, and Aaron Donald were all shut down for a good portion of the season due.
In his career, Robinson has recorded 528 receptions for 6,748 yards and 43 touchdowns. He also has three carries for 10 yards and has only fumbled twice in his career.
The second season of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars was the most productive season to date. Robinson recorded 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 17.5 yards per catch. Robinson has notched three seasons of over 1,000 yards.
The Los Angeles Rams are in the process of a rebuild and hope to move Allen Robinson
The Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl in the 2021 season. Last campaign, they finished in third-place in the NFC West with a 5-12 record.
In the offseason, they've made drastic changes to their roster. The team released All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner, traded star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and released edge rusher Leonard Floyd.
The team is looking to move on from Robinson and his contract as they look to get younger and cheaper. The issue is that not many teams seem willing to take a chance on him, given his contract and injury concerns.
