Travis Etienne trade rumors: Struggling NFC giants urged to make move for Jaguars RB by NFL analyst

In a struggling Jacksonville Jaguars team, Travis Etienne has been outsnapped by second-year running back Tank Bigsby over the past four weeks. Etienne, a former first-round pick for the franchise, had just nine carries in Weeks 5 and 6 before going down with a hamstring injury.

With a 2-6 record and four games behind the Houston Texans for the AFC South lead, the Jaguars have already started the process of rebuilding the roster. The first step came from trading left tackle Cam Robinson to the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday, but NFL analysts are predicting more.

USA Today's Tyler Dragon had Etienne as a possible trade target for the Dallas Cowboys before the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 5.

"An Etienne trade can give Jacksonville additional draft compensation. Ezekiel Elliott is past his prime and Rico Dowdle isn’t a starting caliber running back," he wrote.

Dallas averages 3.4 yards per carry, dead last in the league and 0.2 yards behind the Las Vegas Raiders. Adding Travis Etienne could boost its running game.

Travis Etienne's stats in the 2024 season

Before his injury, which kept him out for the previous two games, Etienne averaged around 4.2 yards per carry, a solid number for NFL standards. He scored two touchdowns in 2024, one in each of the first two weeks of the season.

He has 230 rushing yards this season.

But he's also an important player in the passing game, a trait that he has carried since his days at Clemson. He has 16 receptions for 91 yards this season, with three games of at least three receptions.

Dallas is 3-4, three games behind the Washington Commanders in the NFC East. It faces Atlanta on Sunday.
