Shannon Sharpe raises questions over Stetson Bennett’s eligibility after QB spent 6 years in college without graduating

Shannon Sharpe is confounded by the latest reports surrounding former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett. It's no secret that Bennett has been in the college football game for a long time and was one of the oldest prospects in the draft this year.

Bennett has spent six years in college, but has not yet graduated and got his degree. It's unclear right now whether or not he wants to continue working towards it as he plays in the NFL.

Sharpe was shocked by the news, tweeting:

"What was his major, eligibility? FCK."

The former Hall of Fame tight end couldn't believe that the two-time national champion was not going to graduate. Obviously, some people take longer to complete their education than others, but the vast majority do so in under six years.

Where did Stetson Bennett get drafted?

The Los Angeles Rams selected Stetson Bennett in the fourth round. The quarterback was pegged by many to go undrafted or drop to at least the sixth or seventh round. He wasn't seen as a viable option at the highest level, but Rams head coach Sean McVay clearly disagreed.

With Matthew Stafford coming off a serious injury, it's not out of the question that Bennett sees playing time. If there's a head coach in the NFL that can make Bennett a worthwhile player, it's probably McVay.

Bennett won two national championships as a starter with the Georgia Bulldogs, so he has a winning pedigree. He could be the Rams' succession plan for Stafford and if it works out, they'll look like geniuses. If it doesn't, then all they sacrificed was one late-round pick.
