Should I drop DJ Moore? Week 10 fantasy projection for Bears WR
DJ Moore has been a consistently reliable fantasy football wide receiver. He has finished among the top 20 wide receivers in his past five seasons, including a career-best WR6 finish last year with the Chicago Bears. However, his encore performance at the moment has been massively disappointing, as he currently ranks WR39 this year.
The veteran is in line to turn in a career-worst finish in fantasy football. He has struggled to overcome the Bears's approach of switching to a rookie quarterback and adding more target competition around him.
Despite his high expectations entering the season, Moore has become an outright flop candidate from most fantasy rosters as Week 10 approaches.
Should you drop DJ Moore for Week 10 fantasy football?
DJ Moore has finished outside the top 30 weekly wide receivers in eight of his nine games during the 2024 fantasy football season. He has also ranked as the WR50 or below in four games, exceeding 50 receiving yards thrice. His performances have taken a considerable dip compared to his excellent first season with the Chicago Bears last year, which resulted in an overall WR6 finish.
Upon inspection of his displays, Moore is now a potential drop candidate from fantasy rosters ahead of the Week 10 game between the Bears (4-4 NFC North) and the New England Patriots (2-7 AFC East).
He can be safely dropped in smaller leagues and those with a shallow bench in favor of a different fantasy player with more promising results this season. He should remain a bench stash in deeper leagues, though he has become challenging to trust in weekly lineups.
DJ Moore fantasy outlook for rest of 2024 season
The Chicago Bears completely overhauled their offensive roster ahead of the 2024 NFL season. They drafted rookie quarterback Caleb Williams to replace Justin Fields and added new talents, including Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, and D'Andre Swift. While DJ Moore has still served as their WR1 again this year, the changes have been detrimental to his fantasy value.
Volume and playing time haven't been an issue for Moore, who sits first for the Bears in their team stats chart for receptions (37) and second for receiving yards (374). However, this hasn't resulted in strong production for the veteran receiver, who currently ranks as a career-worst overall WR39 this year.
A big bounce back may be possible at some point, but it doesn't seem likely in his current situation.
