Simone Biles, Texans safety Jonathan Owens take major step in relationship at $2M estate
Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles were engaged last month and will soon tie the knot. Four years following Biles' purchase of a $2 million estate, the couple have now chosen to make their new home in Houston, Texas. The couple revealed their new plot on social media where their new home will be located.
The pair first revealed their plan to live in Houston in January via shared snaps on Biles' Instagram stories. The Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast shared a caption on her photo regarding the news.
Biles said:
“A home is made with love and dreams. Cheers to breaking ground."
Biles and Owens are natives of the city of Houston, which is why they chose to build their home there. In 2019, Owens signed with the Houston Texans. Biles was born in Columbus, Ohio, but was raised in Texas after being adopted by her maternal grandparents around the age of three.
The Gymnastics star has a home in Spring, Texas, which is almost a half-hour away from Houston, which she bought and recently restored. She owns a home property in Houston and built a gym in the city of Spring.
How Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens met?
In March 2020, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens first met officially through the dating app Raya. Biles was interviewed by the show "Access Hollywood" in September 2021. She noted that the two would alternate going to each other's houses and their dogs would play while they would hang out.
"We kind of had that time to ourselves, see if we like each other... and it kinda worked. We kind of were just like magnets."
Jonathan Owens spoke on when he fell in love with his future wife during an interview with the show "Today" last February.
"[It was] probably about a month in, when we were really kind of hanging out every weekend. We just kind of started hanging out more and more and you start to want to see a person… I started to want to see her more. My dog really loved her."
