Texans vs. Jets prediction, picks and fantasy outlook feat. Davante Adams

The Houston Texans (6-2) and Davante Adams' New York Jets (2-6) are set to battle on Thursday Night Football.

While it isn't exactly the World Series, it is another big stage for Aaron Rodgers to prove that trading for him and spending two seasons with him was worth it. Thus far, it hasn't worked out.

Could tonight's outing buck the trend? Here's a look at the primetime showdown.

The New York Jets failed to defeat the New England Patriots with a backup quarterback a month after blowing the team out in primetime. Half of the team's wins have come in primetime, so expect a tougher-than-expected battle against the Texans.

Davante Adams' Jets most likely fell victim to the Patriots as a trap game, thinking about the showdown against one of the toughest teams in the AFC. The Jets are the clear underdog and are upset about losing to the Patriots, so expect a surprising win against CJ Stroud in a thriller.

At 2-6, the Jets also have every reason to empty the playbook because, at 2-7, they will need to win out until Week 18 to have any shot at the playoffs.

Davante Adams hasn't quite popped off yet for the Jets since his acquisition. After spending some time away from Rodgers, the two appear to have built up some rust in their chemistry. However, after the last couple of weeks together, Adams is now a name to watch against the Texans.

With Allen Lazard out, expect Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson to be on the receiving end of some deep throws from Rodgers.

For the Texans, expect another big game from Joe Mixon and a solid outing from CJ Stroud. Stroud lost Stefon Diggs in his last game but automatically is afforded an added level of the element of surprise. Without Diggs or Nico Collins around, expect a good workload for Tank Dell and keep an eye out for another big wide receiver target to emerge.

Once he is revealed in this game, make a note for the waiver wire.
