The Tennessee Titans and Houston Oilers have had their fair share of talented players since the franchise's inception in 1960. However, when it comes to the greatest ever, one name immediately comes to mind: Earl Campbell.

The Greatest Oiler of all: Earl Campbell
Campbell was selected by the Houston Oilers with the first pick in the 1978 draft, before establishing himself as one of the league's most dominant running backs. He played in Houston for six seasons before ending his career with the New Orleans Saints.
Campbell was a dominant force, rushing for over 1,000 yards in each of his first five seasons, earning the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award three times. He was a key part of the team's success in the late 1970s and early 1980s, helping the Oilers reach the playoffs four times and the AFC championship game in 1978 and 1979.
Campbell's combination of power, speed and tenacity that made him one of the NFL's most feared running backs.
Off the field, Campbell was also a respected leader and mentor to his teammates. He was known for his work ethic, professionalism and commitment to his community, earning him the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 1980.
Campbell, who retired in 1985, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1991.
