Now the most sacked QB of all time, where do Tom Brady and Buccaneers go from here?

Tom Brady is currently in his 23rd season in the NFL and has been sacked a time or two in his career. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was sacked three times in their loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Despite the loss, Brady can add another record to his resume: the most-sacked quarterback in NFL history.

He surpassed the recently retired Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who was sacked 554 times in his career.

The Buccaneers quarterback was sacked twice by Ravens linebacker Justin Houston on back-to-back plays in the second quarter to tie the record. In the fourth quarter, the three-time NFL MVP was sacked by Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike to break the record.

Justin Houston's sack on @TomBrady makes the QB the most sacked in NFL history.

Not a product of total games played at all...😂

For the 45-year-old, becoming the most sacked quarterback in the history of the NFL added to his woes this season. The Buccaneers fell short to the Ravens 27-22 on Thursday. The Buccaneers currently sit with a record of 3-5 with more questions than answers. As for the sacks, Brady has been hit a lot in his career.

As you can see, Brady has been sacked 40 times in a season just twice in his career. In the 2001-2002 season, he was the fifth-most sacked quarterback in the NFL with the New England Patriots. He also won his first Super Bowl that season. The 40 sacks in the 2013-2014 season were the ninth-most that season.

Zero sacks in the 2000-2001 season indicate that he only played in just three games that season. For the 2013-2014 season, Brady tore his left ACL and MCL in the first quarter of the Patriots' opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He had surgery and missed the rest of the season.

Since joining the Buccaneers for the start of the 2020-2021 season, he's not been sacked more than 22 times. He's now at 13 sacks already with nine games remaining. At this rate, he'll eclipse the 22 sacks from last season.

Right now, if the Buccaneers offensive line cannot keep Brady up, this season will go from bad to worse.
