Tony Romo was born on April 21, 1980 in San Diego, California. He is a former football quarterback who played for the team, Dallas Cowboys. Romo’s journey with football began when his family relocated to Wisconsin. Romo attended high school at Burlington High School, where he began to hone his skills as a quarterback. His arm strength, accurate passing ability and ability to break opponent defenses made him a favorite among coaches.

Post his high school education, Romo committed to play collegiate football at Eastern Illinois University. Here, he solidified his journey in football by proving that he was a quarterback to watch out for. He displayed tremendous basketball IQ, strong leadership capabilities and stellar performances. His performances in college led him to being recognized with several awards and honors such as the Walter Payton Award. In 2021, Tony Romo was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

In spite of having a tremendous college career, Romo was left undrafted in the 2003 draft. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted rookie. His career over the next 13 years displayed learning and growth. Some of his accolades include being named to the All-Pro Second-Team and being named to the Pro-Bowl 4 times. Over 13 years, Romo passed for 34,183 yards and scored 248 touchdown passes. He rushed for 620 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. He played in 156 games of which he started in 127 games. Over the duration of his career, Romo has made it to the postseason 6 times.
