Top 3 landing spots for Browns wantaway star Greedy Williams

Cleveland Browns cornerback Greedy Williams has reportedly been made available on the trade market. The Browns are apparently listening to offers on their young cornerback with the NFL trade deadline just a little over a week away. The deadline for the 2022-23 NFL season has officially been set for November 1st, so teams will need to get their offers in soon.

The Browns recently gave star cornerback Denzel Ward a massive contract extension, making him one of the highest-paid defensive backs in the NFL. They also have Greg Newsome and Martin Emerson in their starting lineup at the position, so they don't necessarily need Greedy Williams anymore.

If the Browns do in fact trade Greedy Williams, the ideal landing spot would be a potential playoff contender with a need to upgrade their secondary. Here are three potential destinations that make the most sense for Greedy Williams before the 2022-23 NFL trade deadline.

#1 - Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans earned the top seed in the AFC for the NFL playoffs last season. They seem to be well on their way to returning to the postseason again this season as they are currently in first place in their division.

The Titans' biggest weakness this season is the same as it was last year. They allow the second-most passing yards per game. Greedy Williams could thus help improve their biggest area of need.

#2 - Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have quickly become one of the best teams in the NFL under new head coach Kevin O'Connell. They have one of the most talented offenses in the NFL led by Kirk Cousins, featuring Dalvin Cook in the top 10 in rushing and Justin Jefferson in the top five in receiving.

The Vikings clearly have the offensive firepower to compete in the NFL playoffs and their 5-1 record so far proves it. The issue has been their defense, especially against the pass. They are currently ranked in the bottom five in passing yards allowed per game entering Week 8. Greedy Williams could improve them in this area.

#3 - Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks appear to be entering a rebuilding phase during the 2022-23 NFL offseason. They moved on from longtime superstars and team captains Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner, while failing to bring in significant replacements.

The Seahawks have instead been one of the most surprising teams during the 2022-23 NFL season, playing to an impressive 4-3 record so far. Rather than rebuilding, they are now in the mix for a playoff spot.

To become legitimate contenders, they will need to improve their defense. They are one of only four teams allowing 400 total yards per game, while ranking in the bottom 10 in passing yards allowed per game. Greedy Williams can certainly help them in this regard.
