Top 5 athletes who made an appearance on Dwayne Johnson’s HBO hit Ballers feat. Antonio Brown
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's TV show Ballers had its fair share of stars, including former NFL receiver Antonio Brown. WIth the show lasting five seasons, which by any stretch means success, plenty of high-profile athletes made appearances throughout the show's tenure.
Ballers was loosely based on the behind-the-scenes workings of the NFL. From player relationships, to how contracts are handled through player agents, and what players themselves do through negotiations.
Who are the current Super Bowl favorites?
Going for five seasons, the show has had its fair share of stars making appearances in numerous episodes. But who are the top five?
Let's have a look.
#5 - Ndamukong Suh
The now 36-year-old three-time All-Pro made a guest appearance on the show to start season 2. With Johnson's character Spenser Strasmore helping Suh's character (he was playing himself) open a restaurant in Miami.
Given that the defensive tackle was in Miami at the time, it only felt right for the show to feature the star defender.
#4- Julian Edelman
The now retired New England Patriots star, like Suh, made his cameo appearance in season 2 of the show, but at the end of the Finale. With Ballers character Ricky, played by Denzel Washington's son John, looking for a new team to sign with, he looked around at the Patriots.
In the episode, Edelman is seen working out on the sand in the offseason along with Ricky as he hopes to secure a contract with Bill Belichick's team.
#3 - Terrell Suggs
Suggs, a seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champ, appeared on the show as well. However, it was not in a good way.
Suggs had a big argument with Strasmore (Johnson's character) to start the show's second season. It was a brief but intense cameo from the star defensive lineman.
#2 - Desean Jackson
The now veteran speedy receiver was one of the very first current NFL players to make an appearance on the TV show. Still in its infancy when Jackson appeared, the show needed some credibility.
It got that with Jackson making an appearance, albeit a brief one in the opening 10 minutes of the very first episode.
#1- Antonio Brown
When a show is called Ballers and it is centered around the high life that comes with being an NFL player, then having Antonio Brown in the first episode makes sense.
In the episode, Brown was seen with fellow NFL receiver Desean Jackson outside of a nightclub as the pair were the first (then current NFL players as Brown is now out of the league) to appear on the show.
