Travis Etienne or Brian Robinson Jr. Week 3 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Fantasy football projections for RBs

Travis Etienne versus Brian Robinson is likely going to be a hot topic of debate for fantasy managers until Sunday. After the second week of the NFL is gone, fans can now start to make assumptions as to who they should pick for their fantasy football teams – and why.

Here's a closer look to see which running back is a better option between the two.

Is Travis Etienne a good pick in Week 3?

Once again, it's difficult to get excited for him in Week 3 in a game where the Jacksonville Jaguars aren't favorites. The cold, hard truth is that this isn't a good offense, and their coaching staff isn't making the most of their talent.

Etienne has important receiving duties that certainly help his case, and as the Jaguars will face the Buffalo Bills, he's set to have a good role as a pass catcher as well. However, don't expect him to be the most effective runner of the week.

Is Brian Robinson a good pick in Week 3?

Brian Robinson perhaps has a much better case to his name, as the Cincinnati Bengals are struggling to stop the run at the start of this season and the Washington Commanders have a rookie quarterback. This means his volume is likely going to be high – and he does have a role as a pass catcher as well.

Robinson registered a fantastic performance in Week 2, earning 133 rushing yards over 17 carries against the New York Giants. While those performances are always difficult to repeat, expect a great game from him once again.

Etienne's value is collapsing with the Jaguars' offense. As long as Press Taylor is designing plays, Jacksonville's players could suffer, while in Robinson's case, the Commanders will value running the ball a lot as Jayden Daniels continues to make his stride as an NFL quarterback.

When comparing the two players directly, the Commanders' player has a higher ceiling and should be the starter in Week 2. Sportskeeda's Fantasy Start/Sit Optimizer also agrees with the analysis, giving Robinson a higher projection for Sunday.
